Confined Space Rescue and Recovery Course Introduction

We have developed a Confined Space Training Programme to cover work in all classifications of Confined Space. 

The Confined Space Training Programme is a structured programme designed for those personnel who are required to:

    1.  Carry out rescue and recovery duties as a Confined Space:
      –  CS
      Entry Supervisor
      –  CS Attendant (Top Man)
      –  Emergency Response Team Leader

      –  Emergency Response Team Member

CS Rescue Course Pre-requisites

If training is to be carried out at your site, a current, valid fire risk assessment should be provided prior to the training event.

CS Rescue Course Notes

  1. The training detailed on this page is “generic” CS Rescue and Recovery training.

  2. Course consists of:
    –  Classroom based theory and practical sessions
    –  Practical sessions involving entry into Medium and High Risk Confined Spaces

  3. Requirement to complete medical questionnaire

  4. Requirement for PPE 
    Candidates should bring their own

    –  Hard Hat
    –  Long sleeve garment
    –  Gloves

    –  Safety Boots

CS Rescue Course Assessment

Accredited Training

  • City and Guilds written assessment.
    Formal assessment procedures.
  • Practical assessment to National Occupational Standard for Rescue and Recovery from Confined Spaces recorded in City & Guilds format.

Non-accredited Training

  • In house written tick box questionnaire
  • Practical assessment to National Occupational Standard for Rescue and Recovery from Confined Spaces recorded to our standards

CS Rescue Course Qualification

Accredited Training

  • Candidates will obtain a City & Guilds certification of successful pass.
  • Certificates will be sent to the company and not to individual candidates and will be valid for 3 years.  

Non-accredited training

  • Candidates will obtain our company certification of successful pass.
  • Option to purchase a CS Rescue Entrant ID Card.
  • Certificates will be sent to the company and not to individual candidates and will be valid for 3 years.

CS Rescue Course Refresher

Determined by Employer.

Recommend annual refresher training in fitting BA facemask and wearing breathing apparatus

Regular continuation practice and rescue drills required to maintain skill levels.
