CS Management Course Introduction

We have developed a Confined Space Training Programme to cover work in all classifications of Confined Space. 

The Confined Space Training Programme is a structured programme designed for those personnel who are required to:

    1.  Manage work in confined spaces by:
      –  Managing work as a CS
      Entry Supervisor
      –  Preparing safe systems of work
      –  Controlling entry permits

      –  Investigate incidents and maintain records

Accredited  –  Level 5 Award in Manage Work in Confined Spaces

Non-accredited  –  NOS EUSCS06 Manage Work in Confined Spaces

CS Management Course Design.

The Manage work in confined spaces Course is designed for managers that are responsible for organising and planning work activities within a confined space. The manager may or may not supervise the actual job.

The training covered will provide the knowledge and help develop the managers skills in ensuring that the work is carried out safely and efficiently.

CS Management Course Content

The course consists of:

  1. Session 01 Confined Space Introduction to cover the relevance of medical standards and fitness for work in confined spaces.
  2. Session 02 Confined Space & other relevant legislation and ACOP to cover the application of the relevant regulations to confined space working and the implications of non compliance.
  3. Session 03 Confined Space Classification to cover the relevance of the classification for contract or tender requirements.
  4. Session 04 Confined Space Recognition so that the manager is able to correctly apply the definition of a confined space for the jurisdiction they are working in ie the definition of a confined space in UK is slightly different than the Irish counterpart.
  5. Session 05 Confined Space Accidents to cover the requirements to prevent but also the implications should they occur.
  6. Session 06 Confined Space Hazards to explain in detail the requirements of an adequate safe system of work and the selection of adequate safe equipment.
  7. Session 07 Confined Space Equipment to cover the selection of suitable adequate equipment, the test, care and maintenance requirements, the decision on whether to hire or buy, test records, etc
  8. Session 9  Confined Spaces Practical Exercises.  Which session, if any, that requires to be covered to meet the individual need of the candidate.
  9. Session 10 Confined Space Safe Systems of Work to review, revise and produce:
    –    Specific CS risk assessments
    –   
    Method statements
    –   
    Permits to work
    –   
    Test records
    –   
    LOTO Procedures
  1. Session 11 Confined Space Emergency Procedures to cover requirements for planned and unplanned events.
  2. Session 13  Face Fit Testing to cover the requirements for respirators and BA facemasks.
  3. Session 19  Dynamic Management of Risk to cover a proved method of use
  4. Session 21  Confined Space Written Assessments
  5. Session 22  Confined Space Practical Assessments

CS Management Course Notes

  1. The training detailed on this page is “generic” Management of CS training.
  2. Course consists of:
    –  Classroom based theory and practical sessions
    –  Practical sessions involving entry into Low Risk Confined Spaces
  3. Requirement to complete medical questionnaire
  4. Requirement for PPE
    Candidates should bring their own

    –  Hard Hat
    –  Long sleeve garment
    –  Gloves

    –  Safety Boots
  5. Training can be carried out at your premises provided suitable resources are available:
      Sufficient space to accommodate course numbers
      Space to use whiteboard, laptop, projector and screen.
      There are adequate practical training facilities. For this course:

    Formal assessment procedures.
  • Practical assessment to National Occupational Standard for Managing Work in Confined Spaces recorded in City & Guilds format.

Non-accredited Training

  • In house written tick box questionnaire
  • Practical assessment to National Occupational Standard for Managing Work in Confined Spaces recorded to our standards

CS Management Course Qualification

Accredited Training

  • Candidates will obtain a City & Guilds certification of successful pass.
  • Certificates will be sent to the company and not to individual candidates and will be valid for 3 years.  

Non-accredited training

  • Candidates will obtain our company certification of successful pass.
  • Option to purchase a Managing Work in CS Entrant ID Card.
  • Certificates will be sent to the company and not to individual candidates and will be valid for 3 years.
